Substitute

I can substitute the materiality of my current samples by replacing the type of yarn I use or the type of fibers I decide to fuse.

Combine

I can combine the different textures I have explored thus far into larger samples.

Adapt

I can adapt more of a variance in patterns in my knit samples, through distressing them, integrating more letters and holes to further amplify the visual impact of the samples.

Modify

I could modify the color through dyeing or painting colored latex on top of my knit samples and scale by producing large samples that I could place on the body.

Put to Another Use

The function of the sample could evolve into a sculpture rather than a garment, it could also be placed on different parts of the body, i.e. gloves instead of a sweater, headpiece instead of sleeves.

Eliminate

I could eliminate the base material itself which would be the knit, and rather leave the whole piece be made out of latex (which would originally be a coating), this would change the whole materiality and function of the project as well.

Rearrange

I could rearrange the panels of knit material to make different shapes and therefore have the garment serve a different function.

The Scamper workshop has helped me explore the different aspects of my project that I could delve deeper into. I think it could strengthen the multifacetedness of the final piece as it challenges me to alter a lot of the significant elements of making a garment (i.e. function & material)
